STATEMENT: CLEAR CHRIS SUNUNU WOULD SIGN ANTI-CHOICE LEGISLATION AS GOVERNOR
MANCHESTER – Over the course of this campaign and for the duration of the last week Chris Sununu has run ads on TV that claim he is “100 percent for women’s rights” and will “expand women’s health.” But Sununu voted to defund Planned Parenthood and in an email to supporters yesterday touted a new “family values platform” that includes a “fetal homicide bill,” restrictions on reproductive rights and a repeal of the New Hampshire buffer zone that protects women from harassment at health clinics across the state.
“New Hampshire voters deserve to know the truth about where Chris Sununu stands on a woman’s right to make her own healthcare decisions,” said Ben Wexler-Waite, Press Secretary for the Van Ostern campaign. “The truth is that while Sununu runs false ads telling women he’ll protect their access to healthcare, he’s promising his most conservative supporters that he would champion an anti-choice platform riddled with new restrictions on reproductive rights.
“Chris Sununu already voted to defund Planned Parenthood and now he’s pledging to sign new restrictions on reproductive rights into law as Governor. New Hampshire women can’t trust him or or his two-faced ad campaign.”
