NHPA Cites Van Ostern’s Commitment To Fighting The Drug And Opioid Epidemic
MANCHESTER, N.H. – Today, the New Hampshire Police Association endorsed Colin Van Ostern for Governor, citing his leadership and commitment to tackling our state’s drug and opioid epidemic. Van Ostern has been endorsed by a number of law enforcement groups over the course of this campaign including the Manchester Police Patrolman’s Association, the Manchester Association of Police Supervisors and Manchester Police Chief Nick Willard, as a private citizen, all of who agree Van Ostern is best fit to work with law enforcement to tackle New Hampshire’s opioid crisis.
“We know Colin is a leader who puts politics aside and will work with law enforcement to keep communities throughout New Hampshire safe,” said Ken Chamberlain, President of the New Hampshire Police Association. “Our officers are on the front lines of the drug and opioid epidemic and our next Governor who will stop the political games and tackle this crisis head on. We feel strongly Colin Van Ostern is best fit to do that.”
“The opioid epidemic is the most urgent threat facing our state today and it’s our law enforcement officers who are the front lines of combatting the drug crisis every single day,” said Colin Van Ostern, Democratic nominee for Governor. “It’s an honor to have the support of the New Hampshire Police Association, whose officers put their lives on the line every day to keep people throughout New Hampshire safe. We need to stand with them to tackle the opioid crisis by supporting key programs like Operation Granite Hammer and redoubling our efforts at prevention, treatment and recovery for those struggling with substance use disorder.”
